SC4 Completes Impressive Second Season With Region XII Division II Men’s Soccer Title
MARYSVILLE, Mich. – Second season magic for the Skippers! St. Clair County Community College Men's Soccer took home the Region XII Division II Championship in just the program's second season of existence with a late goal in a 1-0 victory over Schoolcraft College.
Seemingly headed to extra time, the Skippers tucked the game-winning tally into the back of the net with a minute-and-a-half remaining in the second half to emerge victorious in an instant classic. The Skippers won their semifinal contest over Muskegon by a 5-1 margin.
Gabriele Catterina garnered Tournament MVP honors and was joined on the All-Tournament Team by teammates Ryan St. Rose, Jules DuFour, Matias Rideau and Matteo Mignano.
Brian Alumbaugh, head coach of SC4, earned Region XII Division II Coach of the Year honors following the championship victory.
