Grand Rapids Continues Impressive Run, Secures Great Lakes District B Championship
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A tournament sweep! Grand Rapids Community College, now 24-2 on the season riding a 22-match winning streak, won the 2025 Great Lakes District B Championship behind three straight sweeps in their home gym Nov. 6-8.
The Raiders started tournament play on Thursday (Nov. 6) with a sweep over Mott and later defeated MCCAA Western Conference Champion, Southwestern Michigan College, in three sets on back-to-back days to secure the program's latest district crown.
Taylor Kik of GRCC won back-to-back Great Lakes District B Tournament MVP honors and was joined on the All-Tournament Team by fellow Raiders: Vanessa Walker, Kaylee Kranz and Ava Tarsi.
GRCC head coach Chip Will earned Great Lakes District B Coach of the Year honors following the championship win.
