Mott Earns Comeback Win to Hoist Region 12 Men’s Golf Title
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Entering the final round trailing by seven strokes and down big with three holes remaining, the Mott Community College Bears pulled off an impressive comeback to win the 2026 Region XII Division II Men's Golf Championship. The championship was Mott's first Region XII crown since 2018 when they won the second half of back-to-back titles.
The Bears posted a score of +66 through 54 holes of team play, two better than Marian University Ancilla who finished at +68.
Top individual honors went to Marian Ancilla's Hunter Zdyb as the sophomore was the lone golfer under par at the end of 54 holes at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek, Mich. Zdyb finished the tournament as the medalist with a score of -6 overall, clearing two golfers in a second place tie by 14 strokes.
Jack Higgins of St. Clair County Community College won a playoff to represent Region XII as the top individual (not on the two auto-bid teams of Mott or Marian Ancilla).
