Kipkoech finishes fifth, Grand Rapids men's cross country team places ninth at men's cross country National Championship
The Grand Rapids Community College men's cross country team finished ninth on Saturday at the NJCAA Division II men's cross country National Championship in Fort Dodge, IA. The Raiders finished with 247, North Iowa Area Community College won the title.
The Grand Rapids Community College men's cross country team finished ninth on Saturday at the NJCAA Division II men's cross country National Championship in Fort Dodge, IA. The Raiders finished with 247, North Iowa Area Community College won the title. Mott Community College finished 18th and Muskegon Community College finished 19th at the Championship.
In the individual race, Joshua Kipkoech of Grand Rapids finished fifth in a time 25:28.28 to earn NJCAA Division II men's cross country First Team All-American Honors. Drew Mayes of St. Clair County Community College finished 22nd with a time of 27:04.64, while Jack Kehoe of Grand Rapids placed 42nd finishing the eight kilometer course in 27:54.94. Mott' Nolan Herr finished 44th in a time of 27:55.47. Grand Rapids' Gabriel Sanchez place 53rd with a clocking of 28:12.86, while Ray Hill of St. Clair finished the race in 28:32.12 which was good for 63rd place. Peyton Hobson of Mott finished 70th with a time of 28:49.83 and Nathan Samuels of Ancilla College placed 78th in a time of 29:04.34.
