Borst's Race Champion Effort Leads Kellogg Community College to First Region XII Division III Championship Since 2018
GOODELLS – Led by star freshman and 2024 All-Region runner, Julian Borst, Kellogg Community College raced its way to a NJCAA Region XII Division III Men's Cross Country Championship on Friday (Oct. 25) at Goodells County Park in Goodells, Mich. The men's team title was the first for Kellogg since the 2018 season and the program's second overall.
Borst paced the Bruins' championship effort with a Region XII Division III Race Champion time of 26:43.5. The time was good for 14th overall in a loaded field of mostly Division II competition and propelled Borst to the top of the podium for All-Region honors. Alex Steward was next at 28:35.7 to also earn All-Region honors and was followed closely by teammate Bruno Cabrera at 28:57.4. William Kennedy posted a time of 30:56.1, while Josh Hennessy rounded out the scoring for the Bruins at 31:52.4.
Lorain County Community College's Michael Couture, a 2023 NJCAA Division III All-American, also earned All-Region honors after posting a time of 27:16.9 Friday afternoon.
